Overexposure

In OVEREXPOSURE you play as Frederick Stopp, a hardened documentarian wielding a mysterious camera that allows you to capture hidden beings from beyond the veil. Explore the desolate seaside town of Hooksmouth and photograph otherworldly creatures as you fight to keep your head in a journey filled with insanity and things that should not be.

How to play:

Overworld-

  • D-Pad: Walk around
  • Zapper Trigger: Photograph monsters within range (You have to get close to get the best shots!)
  • Collect objects around town or dropped by enemies to increase your score and advance the story.

Boss Screens-

  • D-Pad: Move your camera’s ‘Focus’ around the screen
  • Zapper Trigger: Snap pics of the sigils that appear when they are ‘In-Focus’. Once you have captured enough, the boss will be locked down to get a great shot for the scrapbook! (editor’s note: there is no scrapbook in this demo)

The music and graphics work really well together to create an immersive experience. Very well done!
Loved the idea and feeling the game brought! From the art to the soundtrack it really was cosmic horror under my skin. Thank you for helping me to setup the controls!
Really cool idea, nice graphics too, well executed!
The game looks amazing, controls are cool, but not sure I’d use a Zapper and controller on a real NES. Great with mouse on emulator.
The sprite and tile designs are stunning. They craft a vivid, haunting atmosphere that pulled me in immediately. I loved exploring the world and encountering its many creatures.
